In Loving Memory
We grew up knowing each other our entire lives,
If only things could've been different you might have survived.
Getting into mischief, that's what we did,
Living life with no regrets and just being kids.
We were always having fun and playing different games,
laughing, teasing, and calling each other names.
The time flew by and we became young adults,
Trouble followed us everywhere but it was never our fault.
As we grew older we threw our toys,
started driving cars, and chasing boys.
Doing stupid stuff with nothing to gain,
Going for long walks and getting caught in the rain.
We told secrets and had our little fights,
Pretty soon we were sneaking out of grandma's house on hot summer nights.
Going to parties and drinking a few beers,
not listening to out parents and having no fears.
We were breaking the law and we said screw the rules,
We were drinking and driving and acting like fools.
Our actions were careless, and very irresponsible,
But we didn't listen we never thought it was possible.
It was just another weekend, and you were raising some heck,
Later that night the phone rang and they told us "there's been a car wreck".
You were on your way home driving down Lake Shutte Rd,
You were driving too fast and lost control.
As the car rolled your spirit lifted,
God chose you because you were the one of the gifted.
We denied it at first we thought it was a lie,
But we had no choice, we had to say goodbye.
Dealing with your death brought on so much pain,
Knowing that birthdays and Holidays would never be the same.
It's been 2 1/2 years since the tragic winter night,
Still wondering how could this happen, it just doesn't seem right.
As you look down on us from Heaven above,
We offer our condolences and send you our love.
Life is full of obstacles so we can grow stronger,
If only Brit could've stayed just a little bit longer.
All we have left are memories of Britnee,
But now she an angel taking on God's journey.
Be grateful for your family and love your friends,
Because you'll never know when someone's life will come to and end.
I'll always wonder why this happened to you,
But always remember we weren't just cousins, we were Best friends too!!!!

Her legacy

A Precious Angel
A precious Angel was born to us one day; How long she would be here, no one could every say.
Her eyes were bright, her hair was brown; Her cheeks were chubby too. She would always come to see me; and we would share a joke or two.
Now she is gone to heaven; with the other angels she shines bright Now she is looking down on us; Keeping everyone in her sight.
I hope she knew we all loved her; More than she will ever know I know were gonna miss her So bad it hurts us so.
Written for Brit by Kayleen Keplin~ TMCHS

Love Ya and Miss You
. Brit was loved by so many people. When she left this world at the age of 17, so suddenly and unexpectedly, she left many friends and family behind. She attended schools in Dunseith, Colstrip, Ashland Montana, and Turtle Mountain Community High School. She would have been a senior this year at TMCHS. Brit was active in basketball, volleyball and fast pitch softball. Brit was always making everyone laugh with her bubbly sense of humor and actions. She always had an action with every joke. Her hobbies were cruising her car, shopping, playing cards. She was the champion scrabble player out of her family. When playing volleyball at TMCHS she earned most aces(248), best defensive player and earned her four year pin. While playing softball for Colstrip she earned least amount of errors in the outfield. She gave 110% to her teammates. Her biggest priority was her little sisters. Brit loved a variety of music. She especially loved the 80's Rock-Cars, Cinderella and Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers. Her favorite movie was Napolean Dynamite, who she acted out very often. We can remember her saying "sweet", "lucky" and "yes". Brit would always have a smile or a shoulder to lean on. Always helping out friends or simply giving them advice. Her goal was to complete high school and further her education by receiving a Master's degree. Even though her time was cut short on earth, she will continue her goals up on heaven. Brit always had wings, but today she received her "Golden Wings".
